CVT for trucks

The Vario transmission from Fendt was the first of its kind to be introduced with the Fendt 926. It was a massive success and today, most Fendt tractors (all above 101 HP) feature the Vario CVT. Why not implanting it in a truck? Actually I think it would work make a difference in cars, too! Not only practically but also economically. I have a 100 HP mid sized car on my mind with a 2 speed Vario type CVT. 1st speed range would cover the "city speeds" which works fully mechanically at the most economical engine speed (close to the torque peak) at 40 km/h but will also speed the car up to 100 km/h if necessary for short distances. This would also work perfectly for delivery trucks.
It's a proven concept. If something works in tractors it works everywhere. There's practically no torque limit for this type of transmission! And it also works very efficiently regardless the torque you send through. Put it into a small car or into a big truck - it will do a smooth and economical job!
